Whether to sell engineering services banally maneuvering with the help of markups and discounts

It is somehow banal to sell services, maneuvering to guess the optimal price with the help of mark-ups and discounts, this is not for me.

It wouldn’t occur to me to insult you by offering discounts on blueprints. I respect myself and my clients, so I sell my services at a fair price. A matter of honor.

By “sell less” I don’t mean work less, but put less pressure on the customer. My approach is not to try to beat the client, but to offer the best solution, taking into account their fairway of interests and needs.

If the customer is not ready to buy now, it is important to remember that they are only refusing themselves at the moment. After all, each person has their own experience and beliefs that can influence their decisions. Therefore, it is important to respect the client’s opinion and understand that all people have different experiences and their own truth.

There is a great deal of power in taking this position:

  • The requester’s position disappears.
  • The pain and fear of rejection disappears.
  • Customers feel cared for.
  • Consistency appears.
  • Additional energy appears.
  • The transaction time is reduced.

When can we buy quality ourselves? How can you achieve a high level of quality in the product, service and environment, and within yourself, in your feelings and soul? What conditions are needed for this? What should be included in the service, service experience and atmosphere to achieve this goal? What feelings and inner feelings should the buyer have in order for us to create the necessary level of quality?

I ask myself a question every day:

  • What do I demonstrate to my customers so that they choose criteria such as high quality, reliability, and accuracy? What indicators and benefits can I provide so that the client can accept this choice and make sure that their decision is correct?
  • What’s so unusual that no one else does in the service area? How do my clients feel my love, care, trust, and genuine interest? What unique engineering skills and capabilities do I have to stand out from the competition and deliver an unforgettable experience and interaction experience to my customers?
  • What degree of awareness can I offer the client? Can I be so attentive and sensitive to the subtleties of communication that I can make it long and effective? Can I resolve any conflict of interest that may arise? Can I conduct any dialogue professionally and hear the value in every word of the client? What skills and tools should I use to achieve this? Ultimately, it helps build deep and trusting relationships with customers who will appreciate your ability to understand their needs and provide a personalized approach to each of them.

How are you doing with “expensive-cheap with drawings, maybe I’d better look for students?

Are customers only looking for the cheapest, and that’s the only thing that matters to them? It seems that some clients consider price the main criterion when choosing services in the field of engineering, but this does not mean that they do not appreciate a professional and elegant approach to providing services, the depth of communication and the quality of the process.

Instead of focusing only on price, it’s important to understand what value and quality is being offered to customers. This can include not only the quality of the product or service, but also an individual approach to each client, understanding their needs and striving to meet their requests in the best possible way. Such a professional and sincere approach helps to build trusting relationships with customers and increase the level of satisfaction with their needs.

I agree that saving on technical drawings may seem beneficial at first glance, but over a long distance it can lead to unnecessary problems and additional costs. But I am sure that instead of saving on high-quality drawings, it is more profitable to purchase a reliable and high-quality drawing from a professional who can ensure high quality and accuracy of work. This will help to avoid problems related to defects and production technology that may arise in the future. And in the end, the quality and reliability of drawings are worth gold — this is an important criterion that should be taken into account when choosing services and building long-term plans.
